Psidai: Golden Together
Title: Golden Together Series: Psidai AU, Room Swapping 1. Fandom: Prince of Tennis Rating: PG-13 for language Pairing: Golden Pair, Oshitari/Mukahi Word Count: 500
Summary: Eiji objects to his room assignments. Oshitari objects to his objections.
Timeline: First year at Psidai.
Oshitari Yuushi woke up in the middle of the night with a sharp pain in his jaw. His eyes snapped open and his hand flew up his cheek. He could practically feel cavities forming.
Faintly, he could also hear the rustle of bed sheets from across the darkened room, as if he needed any other sign to tell him what was going on.
“Kikumaru? Is that you?”
There was a pause of embarrassed silence.
“Nya! I didn’t mean to wake him, Oishi! I was quiet!”
There was a soft sigh from Oshitari’s official roommate.
“I’m so sorry, Oshitari-kun! Don’t mind us! We’ll just be discreet… um, and sleep.”
Oshitari rolled his eyes. Who did they think they were kidding? The day that the Golden Pair could do “discreet” was the day that Atobe would matchmake for Tezuka and Fuji, or Shishido dump Ohtori for Kabaji, or Gakuto joining a convent, or… well, one gets the idea.
There was another faint rustle from the other bed. The aching in his teeth pulsed.
Oshitari swung off his bed, and with the ease of practice, swept up his pillow and marched out of the room. He doubted that the two lovebirds even noticed him leaving. Not paying much attention to where he was going, his feet automatically took him up the stairs and through familiar corridors to Suite 42 Room A of the fourth floor of the Psidai undergraduate dormitory.
Mukahi opened the door for him to slip in.
“Oi, Yuushi, don’t tell me that little crybaby went running to his seme again,” the former Hyotei acrobat snickered.
Oshitari dumped his pillow onto his partner’s bed and sighed heavily.
“I don’t want to hear it, Gakuto,” he said grumpily. “You’re not the one who has to wake up every night with more goddamned cavities forming in your mouth.”
“Aww, poor baby,” Mukahi consoled sarcastically. “What are you complaining about anyways? It’s much more fun this way since you get to spend your nights with me instead.”
“Instead of sleeping, you mean,” Oshitari broke in dryly.
Mukahi ignored him. “I don’t know why you still bother to even go to bed there anyway, when you know you’re just going to end up here instead. At the rate you’re all going, why the hell don’t you just switch rooms with that acrobatic-wannabe and be done with it. God knows I’m sick of arguing with him ALL the time.”
Oshitari paused in his adjustment of his pillow and Mukahi’s sheets.
“Gakuto? Did you just… come up with a… sensible advice?”
He immediately found himself in a headlock as Mukahi jumped on his back.
“What was that, Yuushi?! You take that back!”
Needless to say, they didn’t actually get to sleep for quite a while.
The next day, Oshitari approached Kikumaru Eiji with the proposal to swap their assigned rooms. His offer was most enthusiastically agreed to.
The thumps of indirect protest coming from the surrounding rooms were loud and numerous. But that wasn’t Oshitari’s problem anymore.
