Psidai: Seigaku vs. Jousei Shounen

Title: Fools These Mortals Be (Seigaku vs. Jousei Shounen)
Series: Psidai AU
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Rating: G
Word Count: 7280
Pairings: InuKai (with a bit of MomoKai?), GP, TezuFuji
Warnings: OOC-ness, Crack

Summary/Notes: Instead of facing Jousei Shounen in junior high (anime continuity), Seigaku faced Midoriyama in the Kantou tournament (manga continuity). Now in high school, the same Seigaku lineup (with the addition of Tezuka) faces the same Jousei Shounen of anime in the match for the Kantou top four. This is the story from the anime, appropriately rewritten.

Notes: Ugh. Up all night writing this. Gonna go unconscious now. Don't call me until dinner tomorrow.

Addendum: Edits all around. Changed a few sections and cleared up most of the spelling/grammar errors.

Psidai: A Rooming Guide

There's been some confusion about who is rooming where in which year at Psidai lately. So I thought I'd just map everything out for reference purposes.

Note that these are the room assignments given officially by the school. It doesn't entirely reflect where our boys actually chose to spend their days/nights. For those, see the footnotes beneath each section.

Psidai fic: Behavioral Sciences

Title: Behavioral Sciences
Authors: [info]tanithryudo & [info]cashew
Series: Psidai AU
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Rating: PG for innuendo
Warnings: Some OOC-ness... sort of?
Word Count: 4023

Pairings: *takes deep breath* )

Summary: Inui tries out his newest juice concoction on Kaidoh. Yanagi joins in. Everyone else is disturbed.

Timeline: Takes place in Inui's and Yanagi’s 3rd year (Kaidoh’s 2nd year) at Psidai, probably in the early fall when mating season is.

Notes: This fic was inspired by coke (the caffeinated kind) and watching cashew working with the tucos today. Beware the insane fangirls!

Disclaimer: Prince of Tennis and all associated characters belong to Konomi-sensei, not me. Also, no fish were harmed in the making of this fanfic.

Ugh. This took forever to type up. I'm sure there's oodles of spelling/grammar problems, but I'm leaving the proof reading for tomorrow. Later today. Whatever. Am going to go be unconscious now. X_X

Addendum: Fixed grammar and spelling. Though if I missed anything, feel free to point it out.

Psidai: Another training camp idea

This doesn't have anthing to do with the training camp idea we've already come up with earlier on. It takes place in the last year of high school and mainly centers in on Tezuka and Atobe being the true buchou-tachi that they are. Cashew and I came up with a lot of detailed scenes/dialogue of how much of it would go, but my memory isn't really up to recalling it all at this hour of the day. So I'm just going to put up the general outline and hope that later on we'll be able to work everything out again from the outline.

Psidai - Conclusion

Title: Conclusion
Series: Psidai AU, part 4 of the InuKai sequence.
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Rating: G
Word Count: 2632
Pairings: Inui/Kaidoh, and slight hints of TezuFuji and MomoRyo if you squinted really, really hard.

Summary: Kaidoh has one of those days. Inui finally gets a clue. (And since when did random body parts start taking over the brain's job at decision-making?)

Timeline: Takes place in late winter/early spring with Inui still in the third year and Kaidoh in the second year of junior high.

Conclusion )

Notes: Wow, this thing is loooooong. It practically took me all day to finish it. But, I'm happy that I'm able to incoporate at least two of my plot bunnies into the story. One is the whole "Kaidoh stalking Inui" idea that was inspired by my new InuKai icon. The other was cashew's wish to see some character fall into a thistle bush and suffer just like she did.

Well, I guess Kaidoh didn't suffer all *that* much from the thistle bush. Actually, at first I'd planned on Inui being the one to fall in. But things just didn't work out that way, and all the bad luck in the fic seemed to have been attracted towards Kaidoh instead. Poor woobie!! I feel almost guilty with my Kaidoh-torture. T_T

But don't worry, Kaidoh! I'll make it up to you. Or... I'll make Inui make it up to you. Wait...

Inui: *chuckle*

WAAAAH! I'm trying to keep this all rated G, you know!

Inui: *glasses glint evilly*

Uh-oh... O.o

More Training Camp Ideas

So, borrowing the device from cashew's newest fic, I thought it would be cool if we set up a dozen of them for the Psidai training camp too.

Psidai - Analysis

Title: Analysis
Series: Psidai AU, part 3 of the InuKai sequence.
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Rating: G
Word Count: 1798
Pairings: Inui/Kaidoh, Golden Pair

Summary: It turns out that Pavlov isn’t just for the dogs. Kaidoh puts his foot down.

Timeline: Takes place sometime soon after Observation, a little before the Nationals.

Analysis )

Disclaimer: Prince of Tennis and all associated characters belong to Konomi-sensei, not me. The idea of the Golden Pair using a bell for their doubles training in their first year was inspired (stolen) from The Golden Bell by Toasted Marshmallow, a GP fanfic I found on ffnet.

Continuity notes: I'm ignoring the part of anime continuity with Echizen going off to America during the nationals. I'm also ignoring the anime ranking matches had Echizen remained, cuz that would mean Kaidoh would've been dropped from the Regulars. I'm also not sure if I'm following manga continuity which has a line-up sans one of my favorite characters (Oishi). So I guess I'm just going to leave it vague and up in the air just what lineup/continuity I'm using.

Psidai - Observation

Title: Observation
Series: Psidai AU, part 2 of the InuKai sequence.
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Rating: G
Word Count: 1721
Pairings: Inui/Kaidoh

Summary: Kaidoh is stalked by mice and men. Inui miscalculates.

Timeline: Takes place sometime soon after Hypothesis, in Inui's third year and Kaidoh's second year of junior high.

Disclaimer: Prince of Tennis and all associated characters belong to Konomi-sensei, not me. Also, no animals were harmed in the making of this fanfic.

Observation )

Notes: Dangit, I'd only intended to write down the outline of this fic after going over it with cashew tonight. But somehow I ended up writing the whole thing. Oh well. This is a rough draft though, so forgive (and tell me of) any spelling or grammar mistakes.

Also, I know that supposedly Inui is in room 3-11. This makes no sense to me, given his brains and the ranking of class populations. So I'm sticking him in 3-1 with Tezuka instead.

Psidai - Hypothesis

Title: Hypothesis
Series: Psidai AU, part 1 of the InuKai sequence.
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Rating: G
Word Count: 1154
Pairings: Inui/Kaidoh

Summary: Inui is a dork; and he’s a little lost. But that’s okay. He’s only having a slight paradigm shift, which always makes for good beginnings, right?

Timeline: Takes place in Inui's 3rd year and Kaidoh's 2nd year in junior high (ie. current continuity), sometime after episode 163 of the anime (the Kaidoh getting amnesia episode).

Disclaimer: Prince of Tennis and all associated characters belong to Konomi-sensei, not me. Also, no fish were harmed in the making of this fanfic.

Hypothesis )

Notes: This is first in the sequence of fics featuring how Inui and Kaidoh got together in the Psidai-verse, starting from the "current" year in anime continuity and going all the way to Psidai. I have a rough timeline of major events/fics outlined, though they may not be written in sequence depending how/when/which scenes complete themselves in my head.

Mar. 2nd, 2005

If there was a Senbatsu the next year... the Psidai-verse, after the current 3rd years have left for high school, who would be picked to go? Considering only our current 2nd/1st years, our pool of candidates is:

Momo, Kaidoh, Echizen (Seigaku)
Hiyoshi, Ohtori, Kabaji (Hyotei)
Kirihara (Rikkai)
Kamio, Shinji (Fudomine)
Yuuta (St. Rudolph)
Kentaro (Rokkaku)

I figure Echizen and Kirihara are pretty much shoo-in's for the Singles 1 & 2 spots (unless they pull another Atobe-Sanada and put them into doubles 2 or something). Ohtori is definitely gonna end up in one of the doubles pairs, and the best matchup with him would probably be Kamio who's closest to Shishido's speed. But I would rather see the hijinks of Kamio being paired up with Kaidoh, so I guess Ohtori is D1 with Shinji? That leaves singles 3... I'm torn between Yuuta and Hiyoshi. But with Kirihara there I guess there wouldn't be much need for Yuuta's lefty-killer thing, and Hyotei does need more representation. And I suppose Momo can be alternate so he wouldn't have to stay back home alone. :p

Or, how about Momo-Kamio in D2, Kaidoh-Ohtori in D1 (beware the ukes!), Shinji or Hiyoshi as S3 and/or alternate, Kirihara in S2, and Echizen in S1.

Thoughts? Dissenting opinions? (Yes, there is a chance I might write this. Or at least something vaguely to do with it. But it's not high on my list.)

Edit: Am I the only one bitten by the plot bunny / mental image / speculation of Ohtori and Kaidoh bonding over puppies? In the year their senpai's are gone, of course. Or maybe Eiji's teaching a "how to be a sneaky uke" class for all his kouhai-tachi at Psidai... -_-;

Psidai: National Finals and other Disasters

Title: Doubles Disasters
Series: Psidai AU, Doubles-1 Trilogy
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Rating: PG
Word Count: 2843
Warnings: OOC-ness. Crack.

Pairings: Golden Pair, Shishido/Ohtori, with a bit of Atobe/Tezuka/Fuji, InuKai, Sanada/Yukimura, and MomoRyo if you squinted hard.

Summary: It’s the finals of the national tournament in high school as Seigaku’s Golden Pair faces off with the Silver Pair (or whatever they’re called) of Hyotei.

Disclaimer: Prince of Tennis and all associated characters belong to Konomi-sensei, not me.

Notes: Finally, the last fic in the doubles trilogy of the Psidai prequel fics. This one is more than a little inspired by the Battle of the Newlyweds doujinshi.

Doubles Disasters )

1. The ordering of the matches at the Nationals for the purposes of this universe is the standard D2, D1, S3, S2, S1 order that most of Tenipuri used so far. the S3-D2-S2-D1-S1 order used in the manga for the Nationals matches.

2. Monsoon season is typically June-July in Japan. Momo's birthday is in late July. So by anime continuity, the Nationals probably take place in mid or late August. So the "tail end of a late monsoon season" seemed reasonable to me.

Psidai: Platinum vs Walking Natural Disaster

Title: Never Learn
Series: Psidai AU
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Rating: G
Word Count: 2401
Warnings: OOC-ness, Rikkai (D1) bashing
Disclaimer: Prince of Tennis and all associated characters belong to Konomi-sensei, not me.

Pairings: Shishido/Ohtori, with a bit of Atobe/Tezuka/Fuji and Golden Pair, and hints of MomoRyo if you squinted hard

Summary: At the Nationals in their third year (second year for Ohtori) of high school, the Platinum Pair runs up against Hyotei's doubles-1, and discovers the price of *not* learning from past mistakes.

Psidai: Gold vs Platinum

Title: Revenge Best Served Cold
Series: Psidai AU
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Pairings: Golden Pair
Rating: G
Word Count: 2182
Warnings: Bit of Rikkai-bashing (just D1, actually)
Disclaimer: Prince of Tennis and all associated characters belong to Konomi-sensei, not me.

Summary: The Golden Pair vs the Platinum Pair at the Kanto Regionals in their second year of high school.

Continuity note: We're mainly using anime characters and continuity for Psidai. However, in this instance, we're using the manga version of the Rikkai-Seigaku Doubles 1 match at the Jr. High Kanto finals. This also means we're using the manga versions of Niou and Yagyuu. So it's going to be laser beams instead of golf moves. Also, we're going to use the manga continuity's Seigaku-Midoriyama game instead of the anime's Seigaku-Jousei Shounen game earlier in Kanto. This way, the Golden Pair haven't done the I-Formation yet.

Revenge Best Served Cold )

Notes 1: This is what happens when God (aka two fangirls) get awind of the fact that some doubles pair not only beat their favorite pair, but also gave one of them a concussion. While we love to torment those characters we love, one shivers to think what we would do to characters we *dislike*.

Notes 2: There might be a tad too much technical information about tennis in this fic. Blame it on the fact I actually did research on doubles play before writing. Well, it's better than mangling the game, right? ...right?

Psidai Errata

Miscellaneous information for the PoT AU that is the Psidai (hopefully) series. Right now, it's only listing what the characters are majoring/minoring in and what their side clubs (ie. clubs other than tennis, which they're all doing) are.

It's far from complete yet, due to my faulty memory. And stuff I'm not sure of are in italics. But here's what I have so far:

PoT AU ficlet

Remember when [info]cashew and I made that AU world wherein the PoT kids had superpowers? Well, in the spirit of the Psychic Academy manga series (except without the fashion disasters), we extended that world to university - a university for psychics which would ensure that the boys we know and love will forever and always stay together in the most crack-filled and non-Real-Life-affected ways. So we came up with Psi Dai, the university for parapsychics.

Of course, given all that setup, naturally the plot bunnies would be biting like crazy. That's where the idea of this little ficlet came from.

If the Tenipuri kids had supernatural powers...

Cashew and I had too much free time on our hands tonight, so this is what we came up with. Now, mind, since Tenipuri comes from anime and manga, the powers that we came up with are strictly of the anime and manga "flavor". So if you're more familiar with American comics type superpowers, just forget all about those terms and definitions now.
